Did someone say “roadtrip?” SPoken 26!
Once again this year we loaded the van and took the trip to the deep south for the SPOKEN 2026 show at Carriageworks in Sydney. What a fantastic couple of days catching up with old friends and making plenty of new ones.
This year saw us launch not one, but two new models based on our Australian first modular carbon platform, the ARGOS, (our Roadie) and our all new all road HEROS which raises the bar for us, well actually widens the tyres and lengthens the wheelbase!

At SPOKEN Sugarloaf launched onto the market two truely bespoke, custom carbon road bike concepts fabricated from the ground up in our Brisbane workshop! Every part of the frame is moulded and shaped and created by us, no buying in tube. This allows us complete flexibility over design parameters, sizing fit and feel.
Over five years in the development (and a lifetime of cycling experience) our designer, Steve George created in the new Sugarloafs, pure handling machines, a modern take on a traditional road cycling ethos, from T47 bottom bracket to elegant, simple lines.
The ARGOS is our production ready development of the prototype we debuted at last year’s SPOKEN show.
What a year!! testing, building, refining, more testing and now here it is in the flesh, ready to ride!
All of the ARGOS carbon frame parts are tailored to the individual rider and then paired with ENVE fork, bars and wheels to make the ARGOS a road bike that handles like a dream.
And while it goes like a dream it looks just as good. The paintwork is something else, finished in white pearl and copper. We heard “wow thats a beautiful bike” a bunch over the weekend and we never got sick of it.
And as its custom, we make it fit and you choose the paint, truly a work of art tailored to the individual.
The HEROS is a natural evolution of the Argos concept. With its stunning green paintwork, it was fresh out of the workshop for the show. We had barely been introduced!
Taking the tyre clearance out to 40mm and lengthening the wheelbase for the HEROS for a more comfortable and versatile ride allows us to shows-case the flexibility of our modular carbon platform.
However don’t let the big boots fool you, at its heart the HEROS is still a performance bike. This is no cruiser, it inherits the rider first purist approach that underpins our design philosophy. The geometry is still sharp and focused. Meet the HEROS here
First and foremost a Sugarloaf needs to handle, it needs to fit and be comfortable and they need to be fast!
